"The infamous Azerbaijanophobic journalist, Lindsey Snell—on the payroll of the Armenian National Committee of America—and the Armenian media that cite her, have spread false information about the activities of the Western Azerbaijan Research Center, operating under the Office of the Vice-Rector for International Relations at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU)."

This statement was made by Professor Mahira Huseynova, a member of the Board of the Western Azerbaijan Community and Vice-Rector for International Relations at ASPU. The professor stated:

"The activities of the Western Azerbaijan Research Center under the ASPU’s Office of the Vice-Rector for International Relations are causing alarm in Armenia. They continuously spread false information about our work. They claim that a fake map was created at our center and that Armenian toponyms were altered. The fact that the Armenian state was established on historical Azerbaijani lands has already been confirmed by historiography. However, Armenians have no reason to panic. Our center is a scientific institution—we do not produce weapons, we generate scientific information and conduct research. We want to return to our homeland in a peaceful and dignified manner. No one can turn us away from this path."
