Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute (now Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University) was established on August 26, 1921 by the decision № 66 adopted by the government to prepare highly educated teachers. Over the past century, it has developed further and become one of the most prominent higher education institutions of our country with 8 faculties. Its first graduation was in the academic year 1923-1924. Although it started to operate as Higher Pedagogical Men’s and Higher Pedagogical Women’s Institutes in early days, the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute, which went through a great historical development, received the name Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University in the 90s of the 20th century. ASPU is the first educational and scientific center among higher pedagogical schools in our country to receive university status. 

 Pedagogical practice is a process that has a special place in the curriculum of ASPU. In fact, experience is a social asset. The training of students as specialists is deepened in a practical way, theoretical knowledge is mastered during the pedagogical experience. In this way, pedagogical thinking and pedagogical ability are formed, which lead to the strengthening of pedagogical competences in the form of a habit. In fact, the pedagogical experience is a tool that will reveal the results of the scientific and pedagogical work of the teaching staff at a certain stage. Moreover, pedagogical experience is a field of activity that will reveal the degree and level of worthiness of tomorrow’s teachers for this profession, it is one of the forms of teacher training.

The internship commission of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University was established with the order № 3/184 dated 27.12.2018, with the aim of improving the quality of training of students during internship, forming their practical knowledge and skills, competences, and ensuring that they acquire innovative training methodology that takes into account the individual characteristics of students. Recommendations were given on the creation of the pedagogical experience commission of ASPU, holding regular meetings of the commission and making decisions, drawing up the “Memory” and the pedagogical experience agenda for students. This allows us to talk about the successful results of the experiment.
