A new vice-rector was appointed to the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) by the order signed by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev on June 25, 2021. According to the order, Konul Isag gizi Pirverdiyeva was appointed vice-rector for strategic development issues of the Pedagogical University.

Strategic Development Center (SDC) was established under the vice-rectorship for strategic development issue. It consists of one manager, three senior specialists, two specialists and an operator.

    SDC has carried out a lot of activities which aimed to educate students. Thus, the purpose of conducting seminars of various contents for students by SDC employees is to acquaint them with the actual educational problems of the modern era and to show the solutions to these problems. Surveys are regularly organized in order to measure students’ satisfaction and to make classes more efficient.

    The GWU dual diploma program and the SABAH master's program, which are taught in the building of the Educational Technologies Center, are curated by SDC.

    Trainings on international assessments held in our country in 2021-2022 were also organized and carried out by the Center for Strategic Development (SDC). The organization of trainings for learners and teachers on TIMSS 2023, ICILS 2023, PISA 2022 international assessments was carried out by the employees of the center. The center also informed the students about the international evaluations that our country joined and created conditions for their close participation in this evaluation.

     Within the framework of cooperation with the Association of Young Teachers of Azerbaijan, SDC specialists have prepared training materials for young teachers on a number of modules. Courses for teachers are organized using these training materials. In addition, the "Teacher's Handbook: Classroom Management" prepared by SDC is available for use by the whole teaching staff.

     With the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, within the framework of the "Digital Skills" project, algorithmic trainings called "Code for the Future" have been launched for the final-year students studying in "Mathematics and IT Education" and "IT Education" majors (including SABAH groups) of ASPU. The organization of these trainings and the monitoring of the trainings’ quality were carried out by ASPU SDC employees.

     SDC is organizing The "School leadership" program for pedagogical staff who wish to work as principals in state general educational institutions in the future in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
