Dean of the School of Philology in Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, vice-rector for international relations, Doctor of Philological Sciences, professor Mahira Huseynova was born on November 4, 1960 in the village of Sust, Nakhchivan district (now Babek district) of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. In 1968, she entered the first grade of Khalkhal village eight-year school in Nakhchivan district (now Babek district) of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and in 1978, due to changing her place of residence, she graduated from high school No. 1 named after Mehdi Huseynzade, in Novkhani , Absheron district.

In 1980, Mahira Huseynova, who was admitted to the Philology School of Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute named after V.I.Lenin (today's ASPU), was drawing attention by her activity during the years of her education, actively participated in all the events held at the school, and won the deep sympathy of the students and teaching staff. Mahira Huseynova, who graduated from the institute with honors in 1984, first worked at secondary school No. 1 in Mehdiabad, Abssheron district, and then at MLK No. 43 named after G. Asgarova in Narimanov district of Baku. During her working years, Mahira Huseynova was awarded the title of "Leading Education Worker of the Republic" by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and was awarded with a badge. In 2003, Mahira Huseynova was the winner of the "Exemplary Teacher of the Year" Republic contest and was awarded with a first degree diploma.

M. Huseynova was also awarded the honorary titles of "Golden pen", "Scientist of the Year" media award and other awards. Mrs. Huseynova, a member of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, has published about 14 books of poetry under the signature of Mahira Nagygizi, and is also the author of two books of old stories. Mahira Huseynova, who has been a teacher of the Department of Modern Azerbaijani Language of ADPU since 2009, successfully defended her candidate's thesis entitled "Philological issues in the works of Hasan Mirzayev" in January 2012, and got the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Philology. In May 2015, she was elected to the position of Associate Professor of the "Modern Azerbaijani language" department, and in December 2015, she was elected to the position of the head of the same department.

Mrs. Mahira Huseynova, distinguished by her researches in various fields of Azerbaijani linguistics, is the author of 26 scientific books, monographs, teaching materials, methodical materials, 5 programs and 14 art (poetry) books. Up to 400 scientific and journalistic articles of the scientist have been published in the republic's prestigious magazines (including foreign press), newspapers and other media. More than 300 articles about her have appeared in the state press.

In her books named "The oratory skill of our great leader" she described the oratory skill of our great leader as the greatest wealth of our people. In the books "The sharpness of the scholar's thinking", "Hasan Mirza's pain is deep", "Hasan Mirzayev and the verb in the Azerbaijani language" ", "Issues of philology in the works of Hasan Mirzayev", "Mukhtar Huseynzade and the morphology of the Azerbaijani language", "Abdulazal Demirchizade and the phonetics of the Azerbaijani language" the research areas of outstanding linguists were analyzed.

In addition to all this, Mahira Huseynova is known as the author of valuable monographs in the field of phonetics, morphology, syntax and lexicology. In "Phonopoetics of Ashuq and folk poets (monograph)", "Linguopoetics of onomastic units in the work of Azerbaijani Ashuq and folk poets of the 19th-20th centuries (Deraleyaz district)", "Modern Azerbaijani language: On the teaching of dialectics in the works of Ashuq and folk poets ( (Darelayaz district)", "Lexicon of Ashuq and folk poets", "Stylistic phraseology of Ashuq and folk poets (monograph)", "Stylish syntax of Ashuq and folk poets", "Modern Azerbaijani language: Punctuation issues (teaching materials), "Stylist morphology of Ashuq and folk poets", "Poetics of Ashuq and folk poets", "Stylist morphology", "Modern Azerbaijani language: linguistic and stylistic features of works of Ashuq and folk poets ( Darelayaz district)", " Linguistic analysis of the works of Ashuq and folk poets of the XIX-XX centuries (textbook)", "Historical-etymological dictionary of food and drink names of the Azerbaijani language" and other works of Mahira Huseynova she tried to clarify these fields from a scientific and theoretical point of view. In her next book, "Scientific and Aesthetic Problems of Language", the author expanded her research objects further.

Mrs. Huseynova was awarded with a "Letter of Appreciation" at the event called "100th Anniversary of the Republic of Azerbaijan" jointly organized by the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Kars Province of Turkey and Kars Caucasus University.

Currently, M. Huseynova is the head the Faculty of Philology at ASPU.

Doctor of philological sciences, Professor Mahira Nagi gizi Huseynova, who actively participates in the social and political life of the university, has been a member of the New Azerbaijan Party since 2001.
