Signing ceremony for Agreement on a dual degree program between the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and George Washington University (USA) was held on January 31.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov, Dean of Education and Human Development faculty of George Washington University Michael Foyer, Rector of ASPU Jafar Jafarov, ambassador of the USA in our country Orl Litzenberger and other official guests.
It was noted that a duel degree program that would be implemented within the framework of “The State Program for enhancing international competitiveness of the higher education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023” signed by a relevant decree of a country President Mr. Ilham Aliyev envisages training of specialists on management of education.
According to negotiations conducted with the USA side, under the program, admission to the master's degree will be held at ASPU starting from the 2020-2021 academic year. The master's degree is expected to be taught in English for two years. The graduates must participate in the exams organized at first by the State Examination Center (SEC) and then by George Washington University. The educational training will be conducted by teachers invited from George Washington University and local teachers. At the end of educational training the graduates will be awarded with diplomas from both Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and George Washington University.
