As part of the official visit of the delegation from Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) to the Republic of Türkiye, on May 6, the university’s rector, Professor Jafar Jafarov, met with Professor Erol Özvar, the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) of the Republic of Türkiye.

During the meeting, extensive discussions were held regarding cooperation opportunities between higher education institutions of the two brotherly countries. Professor Jafarov provided information on the steps taken to develop ASPU’s international relations and emphasized the importance of deepening collaboration with Türkiye’s leading universities.

A central focus of the discussions was the planned implementation of a dual degree program between ASPU and Gazi University. This program is expected to open up new opportunities in the field of teacher education and further strengthen scientific and academic exchange between the two countries.

The meeting was held in a sincere and constructive atmosphere, with a thorough exchange of views on the future prospects of mutual cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Rector Prof. Jafarov presented Prof. Özvar with the “100th Anniversary of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (1921–2021)” Jubilee Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan in recognition of his contributions to the development of bilateral cooperation in higher education.
